Look me in the eyes: Iridology
One of the greatest achievements of evolution is the increase in the life expectancy of the population. However, this increase in years is not associated with a good quality of life.
It is our own responsibility to promote our health. According to the WHO, health promotion is “the process that allows people to increase control over their health. This means that we must participate more in favoring conditions that promote health and well-being for all.
For this, PREVENTION is the key.
And one of the best prevention tools available to us is the study of the iris.
But what is the study of the iris or iridology?
Let’s break it down …
Iridology studies the relationship between the signs of the iris and their relationship to the body’s organs.
These signs are color change, tissue alterations, reliefs, grooves, and the areas where they are found.
When we do an iris study, what can we discover and know?
- Deficit or poor absorption of nutrients
- Weakness or strength of the different organs
- General constitution
- Toxicity in the body
- Areas at risk of disease
- Genetic patterns
- Progress or effectiveness of treatment
What can we not know?
- Tension levels, cholesterol, uric acid, etc.
- The disease by name.
- The existence of tumors.
- Calculi, whether renal or vesicular (kidney stones or bladder stones)
One of the advantages of studying the iris is that we can identify which of our tissues are weaker so that we can treat them with the necessary tools to regain balance in health, even before the disease appears, or if we are suffering, to permit further progress.
It is important to understand that it is NOT a specific diagnostic test, but it does allow us to know that part of the body is not working in the correct way.
We at point out, though a disease diagnosis must be made with conventional tests, we can still use this tool, as a finger that points us to where we should direct our care and with these actions prevent or reverse ailments, present or future.
An iridologist divides the iris into a kind of “map” of the body, dividing the eye into 12 radial sectors and 6 concentric rings.
How an Iridology Study is Performed?
We start with a photograph of the iris (in naturopathy we never do anything that involves an attack on the body) and then with a “reading” of the features that we have found, these data are essential when advising a person of ideal guidelines to achieve an improvement in health.
When an organ is altered, it is reflected in the iris, expressing itself in different ways. As we have previously commented, it is not that we see the damaged organ, but an area of the iris undergoes an alteration that corresponds to the area of the body where said organ is located.
Your iris study specialist will translate these signs for you.
Changes in the Iris that reveal diseases
As we have previously commented, iridology does not make diagnoses of allopathic diseases, but rather provides us with information on possible damage to the state of different tissues in the body or a person’s propensity to get sick.
These are some examples of the anomalies to which we can give readings.
Irregular dark shades in the iris can sometimes mean excess uric acid, arthritis, heartburn, etc.
White cloudiness or reddish spots:
They occur when there is some type of poisoning.
They are spaces between the iris fibers and can indicate accident injuries.
And so on.
The study of the iris includes a study of health quality, a study of signs and spots and their interpretation, level of stress, level of vitality, mineral reserves, degree of cellular fouling, state of aging of the organism, and acid-alkaline balance. With all this knowledge, we can provide orientation and life guidelines to reach our maximum level of health.
Who is it recommended for?
For anyone who wants to know or improve their health or to prevent disease.
How often is it recommended?
We recommend two analyses per year. The first to have the knowledge and adapt a program that allows improvement and the second to analyze the variations that we are acquiring.
For all these reasons, it is perhaps one of the most important elements in prevention.
We find similarity in foot reflexology. Reflexologists affirm that there are different areas in the feet, called “reflex points” that correspond to different organs and systems of the body, and that when pressed or manipulated, it generates health benefits.
To carry out their treatments, reflexologists also use what they call “foot maps” to guide their work.
Reflexology is particularly popular in Denmark and the UK.
With iridology, we use these “windows” that are the iris, which allow us to see inside the body.
We have all been able to see how our eyes change when there is a state of alteration in any organ of the body, even when our mood changes.
When we have a fever, a body reaction that indicates something internal is wrong, our eyes change and become much brighter and more crystalline.
If we have liver problems our eyes turn yellow.
Malnourished people can also be affected by spots in the iris.
When we are facing a person who is physically attracted to us, our pupils dilate.
Thomas Edison stated:
“Doctors of the future will not give medicines, but will interest their patients in body care, diet, and the cause and prevention of disease.”
